How did you feel about the mortgage process before speaking to Boon Brokers?

Before speaking to Boon Brokers, I was quite worried and stressed about the process, as I had heard a lot of opinions and recommendations regarding who to use, and who not to use. This left me feeling pretty confused about the entire process and providers. In addition, this was also my first house purchase, and so I didn’t have any prior knowledge, and nobody I knew personally in my age group had bought a house yet.

Were there any particular worries or challenges you faced as a first-time buyer?

I think sometimes there’s a lot of fear-mongering from existing house owners about how difficult and stressful everything is. This was a worry, as working full-time and trying to do things I enjoy, stress isn’t something I wanted to take over my life. Budgeting was a challenge. I was interested in renovation projects and needed to make sure I allocated the right amount of money towards any work that needed doing.

Was there anything that surprised you about how we worked?

How did it feel when your mortgage was approved?

I was really relieved when the mortgage was approved. Having that ticked off the list and sorted allowed me to move further along in the process and put me at ease, knowing that there was nothing holding me back. It’s also when things started to get real, as I now had a rough timeline and knew the work I had to do with the house. It was all very exciting and became reality very quickly.

Do you feel more knowledgeable about mortgages now?

I definitely feel like I know and understand a lot more now thanks to Kathryn and Boon Brokers. I would feel a lot more confident doing it again. I now have a much better understanding of the process and the different terms.

What would you say to other first-time buyers who feel overwhelmed?

Try not to listen to people who overcomplicate the process or fearmonger about how stressful it is. Speak to a professional, find a good broker (like the ones at Boon Brokers) and a good solicitor, and get your advice from them. There will be parts that are stressful, and sometimes things can get held up in chains, but if you have the right people advising you, the process becomes very smooth sailing.

Yes, I’d definitely recommend Boon Brokers to any friends, family, or co-workers. By far the best customer service and advice I have received from any broker. From the get-go, you can tell how professional and trustworthy the company and staff are.
